All things Dylan

Since I treat this blog like a baby book, I wanted to jot down some of Dylan's latest fads :)
Here we go...
- Dylan loves breakfast as long as it is pancakes, waffles, french toast, or cupcakes with a birthday candle (really muffins with veggies hidden in them, but don't tell :)
- When Dylan wants to watch Thomas, he says: "puff, puff, puff" and wiggles his fingers like the steam coming out of their tunnels.  When he wants to watch Cars, a new favorite, he says "vroom" and drives a pretend steering wheel.  Ofcourse he has the sweetest smile during these requests making it hard to turn down.
- We are up to approx. 3 mile walks in the evening.  Sometimes Dylan walks the whole way, sometimes he rides part of it in his wagon, and sometimes he takes his tricycle.  These walks usually involve a snowcone and stop at a park.  Last night we actually went to two parks.
- Dylan loves the trampoline, there are 3 balls he likes keeping in there to create more of a challenge.  And he likes having the sprinkler underneath on hot days!
- Since his birthday pinata, a favorite treat is still a candy bracelet.  He loves having tons of little candies and control over eating them :)
- We still spend a good part of the day playing trains.  He moves all of his trains from the upstairs table to the downstairs table multiple times a day.
- He still likes chase and hide and seek.
- Dylan knows his numbers from 1-20.  He also know the letter D and points to himself everytime he finds one.  He may not talk much yet, but will be reading novels soon.
- He enjoys dancing to Taylor Swift much to daddy's dismay.....but Dylan is the best little dancer :)
- All things outside: watering, digging in the rocks, drawing with sidewalk chalk, and jumping in puddles created from sprinklers.
- And finally car rides are getting better.  We can now drive across town without much problem, maybe we should have gotten a new car earlier :)
- And we are finally getting ready for baby, he shared a few bites of icecream with baby and points to my tummy every time he hears baby.  This is good progress!

Like Daddy

I have been realizing lately that Dylan picks up a lot of things from daddy.  I think most notable is last week when Dylan saw a bug out on the deck, grabbed a nearby flipflop, and then squashed it.  I know I most certainly did not teach the kiddo that :)  Good news is my future should be bug free living with 3 guys.

Oregon Coast

We spent a week on the Oregon coast and had a great time!  Dylan has been to Mexico twice, and while he enjoyed the ocean those times, it was nothing like this.  The kiddo would take his clothes off within minutes of going to the beach and run chest high into the cold ocean.  Crazy boy!  It was fun to see him so excited :)

Off they go
